Update - December 28

Well, mom finally made it out of the hospital and into rehab. It looks
like she will be there about a month or so. She really wanted badly to
go home but she has so much work to do with regards to gaining her
strength back. They feel like the infection is under control and of
course she is much better than where she started a week ago. God has
heard our prayers so keep them coming. I'm sure she would enjoy
visitors and cards too as I know how lonely it can be sitting in the
hospital. She is at Mother Francis Rehabilitation Center in Tyler,
room #110.

Update - December 26 @ 9am

Christmas Day was even a better day for mom. She ate much better and
was talking even more. The neurologist said the infection that was in
the bone marrow was pretty severe so they are administering even more
antibiotics. The goal is to get her well enough in the next couple of
days to release her to the rehabilitation hospital where she'll go
through physical therapy to regain her strength and I'm sure work on
her motor skills. As always, keep lifting her and dad up in prayer.
I'm just so grateful that God in His faithfulness and mercy has pulled
her through this.

Update - December 24 @ 5pm

Myself, Kevin, Levi, Harold, Laura and Asher visited mom at the
hospital today. It was such a relief to see her. She is really making
big improvements. They have determined that this is not MS related at
all. Her MRI proved no changes from the perspective of her MS. What
has been determined is that she has a bacterial infection in the
intestinal tract that has moved into the bone marrow. They are
treating her with antibiotics. As for the mass on the liver, we still
don't know what next steps are. Her coloring looks great, they removed
the feeding tube and she is eating regular food now. She is talking
more clearly than she was even when I saw her at Thanksgiving. Most
likely the hospital will work to get her better and then release her
to the rehab hospital to regain her strength. We made every attempt to
make sure she was comfortable today. Everything from shifting her in
the bed, to rearranging pillows, putting lotion all over her body and
her sweet sister Laura rubbed her head for a long while (her favorite
thing). Dad also seemed very happy to see us. It's hard being far
away as I want so badly to be there every moment taking care of both
her and dad. Anyway, that's the latest for now. Keep the prayers coming!

Update - Thursday, December 24

Dad spent the night with mom and says she has done a 180. She is
talking, her color is back and she is able to swallow. They have
taken her down this morning for new feeding tube which hopefully won't
be needed for long. She does not have pneumonia as originally thought
which is yet another praise. The results of her Catscan show a mass on
her liver. I'm not certain what the next steps are for further action
regarding the mass. At this point we still have no real answers as to
a diagnosis as to what happened in the first place but my hope is
there will be as we must find out what has caused all of this. First
and foremost, thanks for the many prayers being lifted up. Keep them
coming as we are seeing improvement. We serve a great God who has her
in His loving care.
More news to come as we ge updates!
Love- Steph

Update

As of right now its still unknown what is causing her problems.  They know what the results are as I told Steph she can comprehend what is said but can't make out the words to talk.  She can't swallow. They are setting her up for a feeding tube with the hopes that the nutrients will give her strength and help to speed the recovery.  She asperated liquids and has fluid on her lungs, which they are giving her antibiotics for.  They are still doing test and researching what results they have to find out what the cause is.  The neurologist doesn't feel that its MS related but the Internal Medicine doctor thinks that it could be.  They still are just grasping at straws.
